Thomas “Tom” Sorbe, 63 died peacefully at his home in Apple Valley on October 20, 2010.
Graveside services were held on Saturday, October 30 at Immanuel Lutheran Church cemetery, Gaylord, where Tom was laid to rest alongside his mother.
Thomas Dean Sorbe was born August 30, 1947 in Gaylord to Dean and Deloris (Kramber) Sorbe. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church and graduated from Gaylord High. Tom enlisted in the Air National Guard Reserve and was honorably discharged. He graduated from Minneapolis Community College, receiving an Associate of Arts degree.
Tom was a farrier by trade for many years. Recently he was employed as a blackjack dealer at Mystic Lake Casino until he retired in 2009. For the past 25 years he also designed and created stained glass windows. He enjoyed shooting pool, fishing, visiting with friends, playing farmville and caring for Nikki, his special kitty.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Bev and Jack Miles of Bloomington, two aunts and many cousins.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, Kevin.
