Bids for Rush River Park project to be opened Oct. 21

Sibley County is moving forward with the streambank stabilization project at Rush River County Park.

County Commissioners, Tuesday, approved advertising and setting the bid opening date for Thursday, Oct. 21 at 11 a.m. at the County Board Room. The project is estimated to cost $200,000.

Darin Mielke, Public Works Director, said that federal emergency funds will pay for 75% of the project cost. It is not yet determined what portion of the project the state will fund. Initially, Sibley County thought that the state would pay for 25% of the project. It is unknown whether there will need to be a local match.

Mielke said that the project is expected to take place in late November or early December. Completion is required in mid December, he said.
