Expenditures under budget in most Sibley County funds


Sibley County’s expenditures in most funds are under budget through the first half of the year.

Expenditures in the general fund totaled $4,155,808, which represents 44 percent of the $9,527,782 budget

In the Public Works Fund, expenditures were at 22 percent of the budget. Expenditures totaled $2,505,722 of the $11,581,983 budget.

Human Services’ expenditures were slightly over budget for the first half of the year. Expenditures totaled $2,1919,180, which is 53 percent of the $4,104,264 budget.

In other business, the County Board:

• Decided to work with Sibley County’s Economic Development Commission to possibly write-off some unpaid revolving loan funds to businesses. There are six loans, with unpaid principal of $64,129.07, that are delinquent from 14 to 113 months. Eight loan payments to businesses are on schedule.

• Learned that sales totaled $798,165 in the County License Center during the first six months of the year. Sibley County’s share of the revenue is $42,616. There were 8,836 transactions in the first six months.

• Was informed that there were 40 owners of 43 parcels of property that were sold at Sheriff’s sales during the first six months of 2010. There were five in Gaylord, four in new Auburn, two each in Arlington, Henderson, Winthrop, and Washington Lake Township, and one each in Gibbon, Green Isle, Dryden Township, Kelso Township, and Transit Township. Auditor’s office revenue for delinquent and special assessment fees totaled $2,400 for the first half of 2010.
