Lawrence “Larry” H. Heibel, age 73 of Arlington, died at the Sibley Medical Center on Friday, June 4, 2010. Memorial Mass was June 10, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Arlington. Burial with Military Honors at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Arlington.
Larry was born on March 29, 1937 to Clem and Dorothy (Sturley) Heibel in Minneapolis. He grew up in the Winthrop and New Auburn area and helped his father with farming. He entered the United States Army in 1958 serving for 30 months in Germany until 1960.
He married Angeline “Angie” Hahn on Feb. 24, 1962 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Gaylord.
Larry worked at the Ford Garage in Gaylord for a short time before beginning a 35 year career as the Farm Shop Supervisor at Seneca Canning Co. in Arlington, retiring in 2002.
Larry is a long time member of the Arlington American Legion and enjoyed Sunday card games with the kids and grandkids. He also enjoyed wood working, welding and most of all visiting with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Angie; children, Michael Heibel of Arlington, Lori (Joe) Berger of Arlington, Carol (Roger) Henke of Arlington, Chris (Bob) Pichelmann of Arlington, Dan (Karla) Heibel of Arlington, Peggy (Brent) Doetkott of Arlington; and 13 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Richard and Edward.
