Investigation continues into Green Isle homicide

The Sibley County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the death of a Chaska man who was found dead in a burned vehicle in rural Green Isle.

Sheriff Bruce Ponath said that tips are still coming in about the death of 42-year-old Daniel Juarez, who was found Dec. 6, 2008 inside his 2003 black Chevrolet Trailblazer, which was significantly burned. An autopsy determined that Juarez had been murdered. Juarez was the owner of DJ Satellite Service and El Heraldo Magazine of Chaska.

The Juarez case is the first homicide in Sibley County in 20 years. Ponath said that at this time, this is believed to be the only homicide in Sibley County’s history that hasn’t been solved.
