Reward offered for information on Green Isle homicide

A $10,000 reward is being offered by state investigators for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person(s) responsible for the murder of Daniel Juarez of Chaska. The body of Juarez, 42, was found in a badly burned vehicle Dec. 6 in rural Sibley County, near Green Isle.

Information about the reward was sent by the Sibley County Sheriff’s Office last Wednesday. The reward poster was from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

The investigation into the case is continuing, according to Sibley County Sheriff Bruce Ponath. Sibley County is serving as the lead investigative agency. The Sheriff’s Office is working with the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) and the Carver County Sheriff’s Office, along with local jurisdictions. Meetings are held daily about the ongoing investigation.

Juarez’s vehicle, a 2003 black Chevrolet Trailblazer, and body were found in a wooded area on private property. They were discovered about 4:15 a.m. December 6.

Juarez owned DJ Satellite Service, a television satellite installation business, and was in a Chevy Trailblazer marked with Dish Network or Direct TV decals. He reportedly also owned a Eldorado Publishing, which published a magazine call El Heraldo. Both businesses were located in Chaska.

Ponath said that the cause of death is not being released by authorities at this time. An autopsy determined that Juarez was murdered.
