“We wrestled well enough to beat two pretty decent teams.” That is how Sibley East head wrestling coach Rod Tollefson described his team’s performance Friday at St. Peter.
The Wolverine grapplers improved their record to 8-4 with victories over Glencoe-Silver Lake and host St. Peter.
Kyle Wiest and Jake Zeiher highlighted action for Sibley East with two pins apiece. Wolverines Adam Bates and Todd Pauly were also unbeaten on the night.
“The wrestlers know there is a lot of work to do before the end of the season if we are going to be in the hunt for a section championship,” coach Tollefson said. “But, I am still very impressed with how these young men wrestle their hearts out. We are young and inexperienced. With experience, a lot of the mistakes will disappear.”
Next up for the Sibley East Matmen is the River Valley Triangular. That event is scheduled for Thursday, January 3rd at Springfield.
