Sibley East tennis player Whitney Trocke was recently selected as the “Most Valuable Player” in the Minnesota River Conference (MRC).
Trocke, a senior captain for the Wolverines, posted a 6-2 MRC record at #1 singles this season and was 10-11 overall. She currently is third in Sibley East history with 60 career victories.
“Whitney has been a great leader for our team,” Sibley East head coach Chad Bachman said. “She has worked hard in the off season to be a complete player. Her strengths include her forehand and aggressiveness.”
According to Bachman, Trocke has become a more intelligent player. “Whitney knows what shots to play and when,” Bachman said. “She knows how to construct points and how to adjust her game when necessary.”
Bachman labeled Trocke as the best player he has had the opportunity to coach. “I can’t say enough good things about Whitney and I’m just happy to have had someone like her on the team.”
Trocke is a five time tennis letterwinner. She is a four time all-conference selection and has qualified for the section meet four times.
