Sibley East’s tennis team advanced to the section quarterfinals Thursday with a 4-3 win over visiting Fairmont.

A sweep in doubles action and another victory by #1 singles player Whitney Trocke powered the Lady Wolverines to victory.

Sibley East won all three doubles matches in straight sets. Proving most dominate were Wolverines Courtney Nienaber and Ashley Thomes. The two ninth-graders cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory.

Losing but two games was the Sibley East junior tandem of Alisha Schuneman and Crystal Doering. They were 6-0, 6-2 winners in the #3 doubles match.

Edging a pair of Fairmont seniors at #1 doubles was the Sibley East team of Evie Swanson and Kayla Trocke. Swanson, a junior, and Trocke, a ninth-grader, joined forces for a 7-5, 6-2 Sibley East victory.
